Essure® Procedure

The  Essure® procedure is a permanent method of birth control that takes approximately ten minutes to perform. This minimally invasive procedure is hormone-free and can be done in the comfort of our office.

Micro-inserts are simply inserted into the fallopian tubes through the cervix without incisions. A natural barrier is created by the body in about three months, which keeps sperm from reaching the egg. You should use another form of contraception until this barrier is properly formed.

A test is done after three months to confirm that everything is correctly placed, and that your fallopian tubes are completely blocked.

For more information on the Essure procedure and if it is right for you, visit www.essure.com.
